Hello my name is Marie and I have been part of the community of Esh Winning all my life; I attended primary school in this village.
When I left school, I went to work in a local hairdressers, before training to be a nurse for people with learning disabilities. I now work in education, as a university lecturer at Teesside, where I teach health, social care and leadership to a range of students at a professional level, including nurses from all specialities, occupational therapists and doctorate students. As well as being dedicated to teaching others, I have also gained broad experience of curriculum development and educational standards.
I believe in lifelong learning and have a strong passion for supporting learners from all backgrounds and abilities, to be the best they can be. I have also helped develop the skills and confidence of individuals who face challenges to achieve in education, for example people with dyslexia and also individuals on the autistic spectrum. My commitment to caring, kind and compassionate approaches and respecting individuality has always been at the heart of what I do. I am proud to have the opportunity to be part of the governing body of your school and work with the staff and others, to help the children have a fulfilling and happy experience at Esh Winning Primary school.
